October 11 1916: Jury acquit claimant to Menzies Baronetcy

A man was found not guilty of perjury after attempting to claim a coat of arms.

It was alleged that David Menzies had forged parts of documents relating to the first Menzies Baronetcy.

Mr Menzies said he had brought the documents during a sale of items from Castle Menzies, near Aberfeldy.
