An SNP minister has blamed failing to attend local hustings on the person who invited him.
Joe FitzPatrick was asked to join Monday’s Dundee West event in Menzieshill by a local school pupil who is part of Labour candidate Jenny Marra’s campaign.
Every party except the SNP had their constituency candidate on the panel.
Mr FitzPatrick said: “The only invite I received to attend the event was from a member of Jenny Marra’s campaign team. When we pressed him, he said he hadn’t advertised in the local community.”
Jim McFarlane, the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition candidate, said: “It wasn’t packed with Labour members and was chaired very fairly.”
