Alex Salmond has spoken of the importance of European solidarity in light of the killing of Labour MP Jo Cox.
Speaking outside the assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, he described how the president of the assembly led a moving tribute to Ms Cox.
During the tribute, assembly members rose as one in a move that Mr Salmond described as “signifying parliamentary solidarity” in difficult times.
In this video blog, the former SNP leader discusses how solidarity has played a key part in the function of the European Union and he believes it’s time to focus on the bigger issues of the referendum.
