Nicola Sturgeon is publishing her plans to keep Scotland in the single market post-Brexit.
The First Minister said the country’s economic future was being put at risk by “the right-wing Brexiteers in the Tory party”.
A majority of Scots who voted on June 23 backed Remain – but a majority of those in England and Wales voted to Leave.
In the wake of the vote, Ms Sturgeon suggested a second independence referendum was “highly likely”.
Yesterday she said the Brexit blueprint – called Scotland’s Place in Europe (PDF link) – will be “centred on retaining our place in the single market”.
“Our proposals deserve full and proper consideration, as the Prime Minister has already pledged, and I look forward to discussing them in the weeks ahead,” she added.
Prime Minister Theresa May earlier said she is prepared to look “very seriously” at the Scottish Government’s proposals.
Scottish Conservative constitution spokesman Adam Tomkins said he wants the UK to be able to “trade freely” with the EU post-Brexit.
But he added: “We also want a deal that does nothing to imperil our own UK single market, which is four times as important to Scotland than the EU market.”
