Labour chiefs were left red-faced when the name of the party’s founder was misspelled on the main stage at its Dundee conference.
The erroneously titled “Keir Hardy Awards” was projected into Caird Hall as Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard handed out prizes to members below.
Mr Hardie became the first parliamentary leader of the party after rising through union ranks in Scotland to form Independent Labour in 1893.

The spelling gaffe was lapped up by social media.
Jenny Gilruth, the Fife SNP MSP whose partner is former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale, tweeted: “Hardie Har Har…”
