Nicola Sturgeon returns to London on Monday to try and build support for stopping Brexit.
The First Minister wants the EU departure date of March 29 to be dumped so Westminster can “secure an alternative” to Theresa May’s deal.
Ms Sturgeon backs a second EU referendum with a Remain option, but also believes there could be a majority in the Commons for a Brexit in which the UK stays in the European single market and customs union.
“The reality is the best deal is remaining in the EU, which is exactly what the people of Scotland voted for,” the FM said ahead of the trip.
“With so much at stake for people’s jobs and living standards, it is vital that MPs come together to reject the PM’s deal, to rule out a no-deal Brexit and to secure an extension to Article 50.”
Mrs May’s deal, which goes before MPs on December 11, keeps Britain in a tariff-free customs union with the EU if a new trade relationship cannot be agreed by the end of the transition period in 2020.
The Scottish Parliament will vote against that deal on Wednesday after all parties except the Tories agreed on a motion.
A Scottish Conservative spokesman said: “The Conservatives are now the only party which will respect both our decision to stay part of the UK, and the UK’s decision to leave the EU.
“Nicola Sturgeon and (SNP Westminster leader) Ian Blackford want to create yet more constitutional turmoil and are now using Labour and the Lib Dems to help them. It is time to respect the votes we have had and move on.”
