A Dundee MP demanded the Prime Minister accept she is to blame for the “Brexit debacle” and resign.
Stewart Hosie, the SNP’s former deputy leader, took a swipe at Theresa May during Prime Minister’s Questions for laying the blame at EU bosses and MPs for the political crisis engulfing Britain.
“That fault lies with the Prime Minister who is the architect of the withdrawal deal,” the Dundee East MP said on Wednesday.
“Can she finally concede to the House she is liable, responsible, culpable for the chaos which is the Brexit debacle and when she will be resigning?”
Mrs May did not comment her own position, but insisted her deal “delivers on the result of the referendum”.
She said Mr Hosie does not want to do that, adding: “He wants to try and keep the UK in the EU – 17.4 million people voted to take us out of the EU and that’s what we are going to do.”
