Arbroath manager Albert Henderson has signed Graeme Conning from Dundee North End.
The 19-year-old apprentice coppersmith was the ‘Newman’ who played in the centre for Brechin City against the Red Lichties at Gayfield on Wednesday.
Arbroath also had Conning, 5 ft 9 in and weighing 10 st 12 lb, on trial in a reserve game last week.
Conning, who was released by Dundee at the end of last season, will be included in the Arbroath second string to meet Kelso away from home on Saturday.
