SP Query – On April 20, 1991, ‘Edinburgh East Fife Fan’ asked: Prior to the recent 6-3 win over Alloa, when was the last time East Fife scored six goals away?
SP answer – You’ve had to wait over 27 years. East Fife beat Brechin City 6-0 at Glebe Park on January 18, 1964. Scorers were Meechan 2, Dewar 2, McWatt, McLevy (og).
East Fife goalscorer Davie Clarke
In fact, it’s just under 20 years since the Fifers scored six goals at home. On that occasion, they beat East Stirling 6-2 on March 20, 1971 – the year they won promotion to the top division. Scorers were Hughes 2, Clarke, Finlayson, Honeyman, Quinn.
