Steven Gerrard has reportedly agreed in principle to become the new Rangers manager.
Sky Sports News is reporting that the Liverpool legend will join the Ibrox side on a three-year deal, with Gary McAllister to be his assistant.
Gerrard is due to arrive in Glasgow on Friday.
The former Liverpool midfielder is said to have shook hands on the deal in London following his return from Rome, having watched Liverpool play Roma in the Champions League semi-final.
Gers boss Rangers Graeme Murty was “relieved of his duties” at the club on Tuesday following the side’s 5-0 defeat to rivals Celtic on Sunday.
He had taken charge of Rangers after former manager Pedro Caixinha was sacked in October 2017.
