Arbroath manager Dick Campbell will need to break up a winning team for their William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round replay at Falkirk.
That is because the strikeforce he used to defeat Partick Thistle 2-1 at the weekend cannot feature.
Dale Hilson, who joined from Forfar earlier this month, is cup-tied, while on-loan Hearts frontman Craig Wighton, who scored what turned out to be the winner in Saturday’s Championship success, was not signed in time for the original tie and is therefore ruled out.
The first meeting with the Bairns ended goalless and Campbell is not for showing his hand in terms of who will come in at the Falkirk Stadium tonight.
He said: “Saturday’s performance was really strong and a terrific response to our poor display and defeat at Alloa in midweek.
“Our players usually respond in the right manner after a disappointing display and they did that again.
“We played poorly in a game at Dunfermline and lost 2-0 and then went up and won at Inverness Caledonian Thistle so it was good to see those powers of recovery again.
“Saturday’s game was one that we deserved to win and when you play as well as we did, and have a game coming up so quickly afterwards, you would normally look to go with the same approach again.
“We cannot do that as Dale and Craig cannot be involved.
“However, I am fortunate to have a good number of options available. I can use Scott Stewart, David Gold, Gavin Swankie, Michael Murphy and Bobby Linn. I am not totally sure how we will go but I will have everything in place by kick-off.”
Campbell thinks the Bairns will relish the replay now they are at home.
He added: “Falkirk are on a good run under David McCracken and Lee Miller and I know that they view their home ground a fortress.
“They will fancy their chances after thumping Forfar 6-0 at the weekend but there is a big prize available so I am looking forward to going for it.”
Hilson and Wighton are the only absentees, with Campbell having no injury or suspension issues to wrestle with.
Falkirk are on a high after hitting the Loons for six on Saturday, with co-manager McCracken delighted that his side have found their shooting boots.
McCracken said: “Arbroath probably had the better of the first half without creating too much. In the second we mounted a fair amount of pressure but we did not show a cutting edge.
“However, we showed that edge against Forfar and we will look to be like that in the replay.
“It will not be easy as Arbroath will be coming here on a high after beating Partick Thistle. It has all the makings of a great game, especially as there is a big prize available.”
Recent recruit Ben Hall, who scored twice against Forfar will miss out as he is cup-tied, but Gregor Buchanan, who was on the bench at the weekend as he was carrying a knock, is ready to step back in.
