Raith Rovers are to sign experienced striker Steven MacLean on a short-term deal from Hearts.
MacLean (37), a Scottish Cup-winning legend with St Johnstone, has six months left on his contract at Tynecastle but boss Daniel Stendel has indicated he doesn’t feature in his plans.
Rovers manager John McGlynn has targeted MacLean to help the League One leaders secure a return ticket to the Championship.
The one-time Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth attacker was plucked from Saints two years ago by then Hearts gaffer Craig Levein to add experience to a youthful squad.
MacLean secured a two-year deal with the Jam Tarts and has made 17 appearances during this campaign.
