East Fife manager Darren Young has welcomed his first new recruit of the summer with one-time Queen’s Park striker Thomas Collins signing on for two years from Lowland League side BSC Glasgow.
The 23-year-old made an early impression with the Hampden club when he scored the winner in a January 2014 success over Clyde whilst he was still a schoolboy.
But he headed to Beith Juniors the following summer before moving to BSC in March 2019.
Collins scored 19 goals last season including the second goal in a 4-3 success at New Bayview last November as BSC Glasgow knocked the Fifers out of the Scottish Cup.
Young said: “Thomas agreed a pre-contract with us a few months ago and will sign his two-year deal when his contract with BSC ends this week.
“He has a bit of senior experience and we will look to build on that.”
Young has also been boosted by the news that Aaron Dunsmore and Craig Watson have agreed to extend to their current contracts with the club.
However midfielder Lewis Hunter and striker Lewis Baker are leaving after failing to establish themselves last season.
Young added: “There was interest elsewhere in Aaron and Craig including from the Championship so I am delighted that they have agreed to stay.”
“I would like to wish Lewis and Lewis well in the rest of their careers.”
