Arbroath manager Dick Campbell has successfully recruited Finnish midfielder Miko Virtanen for another loan spell.
The Lichties went back to Aberdeen to ask if they could get the young Finn for the new Championship campaign after he proved to be such a success last season as their young player of the year.
To the Gayfield club’s delight, the Dons said yes.
The news has left Arbroath “ecstatic” and a club statement welcomed Virtanen with open arms.
It read: “Everyone at Arbroath FC are absolutely ecstatic to announce that last year’s young player of the year Miko Virtanen is rejoining the club on loan from Aberdeen.
“Miko’s performances last season for Arbroath caught the eye of everyone who watched him play and in turn Arbroath have fought off several clubs who were desperate to secure Miko on loan.
“Our manager Dick Campbell couldn’t be happier to have Miko back with us and we know all our players are thrilled to have him return.
“We would like to thank Derek McInnes and everyone at Aberdeen FC for again allowing Miko to return to Gayfield.”
