Forfar chairman Alastair Donald is set to continue in his role at the club following the hammer blow of relegation at the weekend.
Speaking to Courier Sport on Monday, he admitted that he was not sure if he had the desire to stay in his post or even if the rest of the directors wanted him to continue after the club was consigned to the drop following defeat at Albion Rovers.
However, following a board meeting last night, Forfar have announced that Donald will continue as chairman although there is now a new post of club president.
In a statement, the club said: “Following last night’s scheduled board meeting, a couple of important changes have been made to the structure of the board of directors of Forfar Athletic Football Club Ltd.
“Jimmy Farquhar who has been vice-chairman of the club since 2010 has been appointed to the new position of club president.
“Jimmy will remain a full board member in this newly-created post.
“Dennis Fenton will now assume the vice-chairman’s role to give more day-to-day support moving forward to Alastair Donald who continues in the chairman’s role.
“The current directors also hope to announce an addition to their numbers in the next few weeks.”
