With Raith and Livingston already destined to be battling for promotion and to avoid relegation respectively through the play-offs, on paper there seems little at stake for either side when they meet this Sunday in the final regulation league match of the season.
However, Rovers boss Ray McKinnon insists the game is vitally important and he certainly will not accept anyone taking their foot off the gas this weekend.
The Kirkcaldy side’s draw with Falkirk last Saturday extended their recent unbeaten run to 10 games and the manager is desperate for that momentum to continue going into next week’s play-off quarter-final first leg.
He said “We are on a long unbeaten run and we want that to continue.
“We have been rotating the squad recently but we have still been very competitive.
“We want to keep that momentum going into the play-offs.
“So while some may say there is little to play for at Livingston, it is a big game for us.
“We are determined to go into the play-offs on a high.”
