Montrose boss Paul Hegarty is hoping that the club will reap the benefits next season from the “wee bit of progress” they have made over this campaign.
The Links Park men welcome Berwick Rangers to Angus for their last match of 2015/16.
Hegarty will only be looking for a handful of new players before 2016/17 gets underway, and believes that will be an advantage.
“We’ve got 13 players signed already,” Hegarty said. “That’s 10 more than last year when there was a mass exodus.
“In that regard we’re ahead of schedule, and I’d like to bring in another four or five. I’ve already got my eyes on a couple of players who are out of contract with their clubs in the summer.
“The players who are staying will know how myself and John Holt work now. That familiarity will help.
“We’ve made a wee bit of progress this season and next season we want to make even more.”
Hegarty intends to finish this term in style.
“It’s always the target to send our fans away with a smile on their faces, optimistic about what will be in store when they come back for the new season,” he said.
“Apart from East Fife, Berwick are probably the form team in the league so getting that win won’t be easy.”
