Montrose have snapped up Hearts youngster Harry Cochrane on loan until January.
And the 19-year-old – who had a spell at Dunfermline last season – looks set to make his debut for the Gable Endies in tomorrow’s Angus derby with Forfar.
He shot to stardom aged 16 in 2017 after scoring in the Jambos’ 4-0 home victory over Celtic which ended the Parkhead club’s 69-game unbeaten domestic run.
But his progress has stalled in recent times due to injuries and a lack of game time.
Tynecastle boss Robbie Neilson is said to be an admirer of the playmaker – out of contract next summer – and wants him to play regular first-team football.
Montrose said: “Harry is a Scotland youth internationalist who has represented his country at under-14, 15, 16, 17 and 19 level.
“Injuries temporarily hindered the youngster’s development, but a loan spell at Dunfermline last season has brought him back to the edge of the Tynecastle outfit.
“Cochrane will complete Stewart Petrie’s side for the first half of the season and will go straight into the Gable Endies squad for tomorrow’s Angus Derby against Forfar at Station Park.”
