Hearts youth coach Liam Fox has emerged as a strong contender for the vacant managerial position at Cowdenbeath.
Colin Nish departed Central Park after just one season following their relegation to League Two and Fox is understood to be firmly in the frame to replace the former Dundee striker.
The 32-year-old, who played for Raith Rovers, joined Hearts last summer to work with their under-17s side.
He has already cultivated a promising reputation as an up-and-coming coach, guiding Hearts to their first East of Scotland Shield win in a decade.
The club are unlikely to stand in Fox’s way if he is keen to begin his managerial career with the Blue Brazil.
Jason Dair, who was formerly Nish’s assistant, is currently caretaker boss and has been linked with the role on a permanent basis, as have Ian Jenkins and former Cowden favourite Danny Lennon.
