Fife footballer Louis Appere is experiencing the opportunity of a lifetime on trial at Italian superstars AS Roma.
The 17-year-old striker from the Cupar-based AMsoccer Club is at the Rome club’s prestigious Trigoria training base this week for a four-day stint after coming to their attention via internet site YouTube.
His coach Ross Grant said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Louis and a huge compliment for our club.
“Roma are a well-established Champions League side.
“He will complete his four-day trial and return back to Scotland with fantastic memories and experiences of living like a professional footballer of a club with huge prestige and will have helped to pave a way for AMsoccer Club players in future generations to be given this opportunity.”
Louis started playing football with AMsoccer Club at the age of just eight, when he attended the Falkland after-school football club.
