Brechin boss Darren Dods will celebrate a “silver anniversary” on Saturday when he begins what will be his 25th pre-season.
The player-manager, who turned 41 earlier this month, is intending on spending more time in the dug-out next term, however, he will still be registered as a player to cover any injuries in defence.
Dods will have 14 other signed players for company as pre-season begins with Willie Dyer and James Dale set to take part after signing new deals with the club.
And the manager has jokingly warned that any of the squad who finish behind him in the gruelling work-out are in big trouble.
Dods said: “We are back for the start of pre-season on Saturday, starting with a double session.
“With Willie and James putting pen to paper again, we should have 15 signed up although Alan Trouten will miss Saturday as he is still on honeymoon.
“The lads were told to keep themselves ticking over during what has been a pretty short break and I am sure they will all come back in good condition.
“I will also be taking part as we have brought in a sports specialist to oversee pre-season.
“But I know what every session will entail – and the ones to avoid.
“This will be my 25th pre-season and possibly my last but for the rest of the players, the motivation is that anyone who finishes behind me is in for extra training!”
