The eagerly-awaited Ladbrokes SPFL fixtures for the 2016/17 season were released at 9am today and after the opening-day game, Saints face matches against Motherwell at Fir Park followed by a mouth-watering clash at McDiarmid with Champions Celtic.
Dundee begin with a tricky trip to the Highlands to play Ross County but they will open at home the week after with a cracking game against Rangers, and a certain Joey Barton, followed by another match at Dens with Hamilton.
The Dark Blues, who have been linked with playing a home league match against Celtic in the United States before the split, do have a scheduled fixture at Dens with the Hoops on March 18, meaning the glamour game is still a possibility.
Dundee United begin what they hope will be a solitary season in the Championship with a game against Queen of the South at Tannadice before a difficult away trip to Dumbarton. They will then face newly-promoted Ayr United at home.
