Montrose boss Paul Hegarty has bolstered his squad with the addition of former St Johnstone keeper Jordan Millar.
The 19-year-old spent last season on loan with the Gable Endies, making 26 appearances for the Angus club.
Millar was released by Saints last month and Hegarty moved swiftly to attempt to bring him back to Montrose with his perseverance paying off at the weekend when Millar put pen to paper on a deal.
The teenager will now battle it out with experienced former Arbroath keeper Allan Fleming, who was signed by the Links Park manager last week.
Hegarty said: “Jordan signed for us at the weekend.
“He did really well for us last season and he will battle it out with Allan Fleming for the goalkeeper jersey.
“I am delighted to get if over the line as it goes without saying that the keeper position is a very important one.
“I think the fact that Jordan enjoyed playing for Montrose last season and he got on well with all the boys helped sway his decision to come back to the club.
“He took a little while to settle into playing first-team football but did really well for us once he had fully adjusted.
“It is great that we now have two fine keepers for next season.
“I have to thank the club’s board for backing us and hopefully we can still bring one or two more in.”
