Brechin boss Darren Dods’ squad will be bolstered by the return of Willie Dyer from holiday as the Angus side take on a Dundee XI at the Glebe tonight.
The full-back was absent on Saturday as City shipped five goals without reply against a slick Dundee United side.
Dyer will be back in defence this evening but the game will come too soon for centre-half Paul McLean who is still suffering from the effects of a knee injury.
The Glebe gaffer said: “We played five at the back for most of pre-season and the end of last year when we were on a good run.
“We tried a four in the first-half against United but we were wide open and they punished us.
“We tried to adjust it in the second-half and we made it more competitive.
“It was a good learning exercise for ourselves.
“Willie has been on holiday. It is the type of thing that happens with part-time players.
“Boys come back at different times and he has a wee daughter at school but he will be back for the game on Tuesday night.
“Paul McLean, though will be out for another week to 10 days after injuring his knee in a block tackle against Raith.”
Dundee are set to field a side mostly made up of Under-20s but first-team squad members Kane Hemmings, Yordi Teijsse and James Vincent, will also play a part.
And Dark Blues boss Paul Hartley has warned last season’s 25-goal striker Hemmings, who missed part of pre-season with a calf injury, that he is not guaranteed a place in his starting XI.
Hartley said: “Kane, along with the others, now has to go out and prove himself all over again. That’s just football.
“Kane took time to get going last season but then we saw exactly what he can do.
“We are hoping for the same this time however, we know it will be very difficult for him to score 25 again.”
Tonight’s game kicks off at 7.30pm.
