Former Dunfermline striker Faissal El Bakhtaoui has gone on trial at English side Blackburn Rovers.
The Ewood Park outfit, who are managed by former Pars player Owen Coyle, are running the rule over the 23-year-old who netted 30 times last season.
Dunfermline were understandably very keen to hold on to El Bakhtaoui and the club have remained patient waiting to see whether he will sign a new contract at East End Park.
Now, though, he has been given the chance to show he is capable of making the big step up to the Championship in England with Blackburn.
Coyle commented: “I feel if you’re bringing a player in on trial it’s on the basis they might be bring you something different.
“So we have a young player joining us, who has played in Scotland, called Faissal El Bakhtaoui.
“He has played for Dunfermline in Scottish League One and done very well.
“The judgement will be whether he can play at the level of the Championship.
“But it doesn’t do us any harm to look at the kid. He’s willing and he was very excited by the opportunity to come and train at Blackburn Rovers which he’ll do.
“He will also probably get involved with a couple of pre-season games and then we’ll take it from there.”
