It will be a “much depleted” Arbroath squad that faces Inverness Caledonian Thistle in their last Betfred Cup fixture this afternoon.
Michael Dunlop is among the injured players and boss Dick Campbell is working hard to bring in another centre-back to help the situation.
“I’m still trying to get a centre-half,” Campbell said.
“I’m really disappointed for Michael. He could be a very important player for us. It’s a hamstring injury he’s got.
“We’ll go to Inverness with a much depleted squad.”
Arbroath won’t be progressing to the next round of the Betfred Cup regardless of the result today but Campbell has been consistent in his approach to the competition.
“It’s all about the league next Saturday,” he pointed out.
“I can’t say I’m a lover of starting the season with cup games. I said from the beginning that we would play everybody who needed a game and that’s what we’ve done.”
