Raith have snapped up promising Rangers kid Jordan Thompson on loan until January – with Rovers defender David Bates moving in the opposite direction to Ibrox.
Thompson, who was previously on the books of Manchester United as a youth, is a 19-year-old attacking midfielder.
He made two appearances for Mark Warburton’s side last season and also had a spell on loan at Airdrie.
As Northern Irishman Thompson arrives at Stark’s, Bates leaves to link up with the Rangers Development squad, also until January.
Rovers boss Gary Locke said: “Jordan is an exciting young talent and I’m really delighted that Rangers have agreed to this deal, as I’m sure he will prove to be a real handful for our opponents.
“I’m also really pleased that young David is getting this opportunity. It’s his big chance to prove how good he can be, and I will be getting reports from Mark and David (Weir) on how he is performing.”
