Montrose have appointed John Crawford as the interim chairman of the club after Derek Sim decided to step down from the role last week.
The new Links Park supremo is expected to remain in the role until the end of the season as the Gable Endies board take their time to find a permanent successor to Sim.
Crawford said: “The board of directors had a lengthy discussion regarding Derek’s replacement and we felt we shouldn’t rush into making a permanent appointment for what is a very important position for the club.
“To give us time to reflect and consider our options, I have agreed, as current vice-chairman, to take on the role of interim chairman for the immediate future.”
Local businessman Crawford has been on the board for over 20 years.
Honorary President John Paton added: “This is an excellent appointment for the club. John will bring great experience and stability at a crucial time with the season just started and the transfer window deadline looming.
“As a board it is important we stay focused on matters on the pitch and provide our management team with as much support as possible and John’s interim appointment will allow us to do just that.”
