Brechin boss Darren Dods is looking for his team to continue their encouraging start to the season when they travel to play East Fife today.
City sit third in League One after an unbeaten start and the fact that last Saturday’s goalless home draw with Queen’s Park was met with disappointment at Glebe Park tells its own story about their campaign so far.
They face a tricky trip to New Bayview but if they win then they will really pick up momentum and threaten early leaders Livingston and Alloa.
Dods said: “We were disappointed with the 0-0 but when you think about it that won’t look too bad a result if we win against East Fife.
“Queen’s Park were well organised and set themselves up to hit us on the break and I predict they will give most of the teams in our division a tough time.
“We worked really hard but just couldn’t get the breakthrough.
“Now, if we can get a win against East Fife, then that will keep us unbeaten in the league and maybe move us up the table.
“One good thing going into the game is that we have a full squad available and when you think back to last season, when we had a few out at this stage, then that’s a really positive contrast.
“I think this match looks evenly balanced and when I saw East Fife play at Arbroath in the Irn Bru Cup they improved as the game went on and ended up winning 3-2 in extra-time.
“So we have to be on our game for the whole 90 minutes.”
