Brechin boss Darren Dods is backing his players to put their Dunfermline disappointment behind them.
City welcome Airdrie to Glebe Park this afternoon, looking to banish memories of last weekend’s 5-1 loss in the Irn Bru Cup.
The return to League One business will be a welcome one and the pre-match talk will be about consigning the result against the Pars to the history books.
Dods, whose men sit second-top of the table going into this clash against the Diamonds, said: “Hopefully, we will see a reaction from the players when we play Airdrie.
“Obviously, the Dunfermline result was disappointing and it may well have been the worst we have played all season.
“It was a shame because you had to go back over six months to when we last lost a competitive game at home – and that was to Dunfermline.
“I just think all our mistakes came in the one game.
“We made errors and they certainly punished us because they are a good side.
“However, that hasn’t been like us all season.
“The players have done well overall and this is the chance to get right back on track. I believe we can take that chance.”
Andy Jackson, who missed the Pars game, and Chris O’Neil, who was on the bench, are both fully fit and available.
