Arbroath may be above Cowdenbeath in the League Two table but there is no danger of Dick Campbell’s men taking their visitors lightly.
Back in July the Fife club came to Gayfield and won 2-0 in the Betfred Cup, a result that is still fresh in Campbell’s mind.
“They beat us comfortably that day,” he said.
Campbell wants to see his team develop a more clinical steak over the next few weeks.
“We should have had the game wrapped up (against Annan Athletic) at half-time last week,” he said.
“But in the end we needed a stoppage time equaliser.
“Hopefully we can start scoring on a more regular basis.”
Campbell has a full squad to choose from.
Cowdenbeath manager Liam Fox is hoping that returning to Gayfield will help the Blue Brazil bounce back from losing 2-0 to Berwick Rangers last weekend.
He said: “We are still learning but we have to start putting into practice the things we have learned. We had a good performance and result up at Arbroath in the Betfred Cup and whilst things have moved on for both sides since then it would be good to come home with another success.
“The players have worked hard in training and all their focus has been on getting a win in this game.
“If we can start playing to a high level consistently when we have the ball and also to a high level when we are working to get the ball back I am sure that we will get consistent and better results.”
Kenny Adamson is the only player missing from Fox’s squad.
