Forfar boss Gary Bollan is hoping for a triple boost ahead of Saturday’s derby with Arbroath with the return of three key players.
Tam O’Brien, Lewis Milne and David Cox all missed out on Saturday’s Irn-Bru Challenge Cup defeat at Station Park against Welsh outfit The New Saints.
However, Bollan is confident the trio will be available for the trip to Gayfield as the Loons look to return to winning ways in League 2 and further cement their place at the top of the table.
He said: “Tam O’Brien and Lewis have a couple of chronic knocks and we didn’t want them to get any worse by playing against New Saints.
“At the end of the day, it is the league that matters for us and we have a big game next week. So we didn’t want to risk them.
“Young David Cox has been out for a couple of weeks as well but hopefully we will have him back this Saturday.
“It will be a huge boost to have the three of them back as we did miss them but it gives others the opportunity to come and play, to get game time under their belt.
“I thought Martyn Fotheringham who came in against New Saints having not played for a long time, put in a great shift and performance.”
Meanwhile, Bollan has signed a former Dundee United goalie Joe McGovern to replace Tangerines loan keeper Brett Long who has been recalled by his parent club.
McGovern was on the bench for the game against New Saints having signed just 30 minutes before the noon deadline.
