Dick Campbell has warned his player to beware of a “wounded” Berwick Rangers.
Today’s opponents were knocked out of the Scottish Cup by non-league Hawick Royal Albert last weekend and Campbell is in no doubt that boss John Coughlin will have them fired up to make amends for that performance at Shielfield.
Campbell is getting used to other sides saving their best for Arbroath.
“There have been a few managers say to me ‘that’s the best we’ve played’ after they’ve faced us,” he said.
“I suppose we should take it as a compliment.
“I actually think that the last match with Berwick was the best anybody has played against us.
“I know that they will be a wounded animal after going out of the cup like that and we have to be ready for it.
“I can’t do anything about their team though. It’s about what we do.”
Michael Dunlop will miss the game, as will veteran keeper Rab Douglas, while Josh Skelly is also a doubt. Jassem Sukar is available.
