Brechin boss Darren Dods is looking for his players to bounce back strongly when they travel to face Peterhead today.
The Angus side slumped to a 3-0 defeat at home to Livingston last week with the defeat also seeing City lose their place at the top of the League 1 table to David Hopkin’s outfit.
Dods sensed that his players started “feeling sorry for themselves” against Livi but he has seen enough in training this week to feel confident going north to Balmoor this afternoon.
The Glebe gaffer said: “We had defended fairly well last week and then we lost a slack goal.
“That quickly became two and the game had gone for us.
“After the second went in, I thought we started feeling sorry for ourselves.
“Livi are a good side who have an aerial threat but they can mix it up and bring it down.
“But I still expected more of a response even when we were two behind.
“However, the lads have been really upbeat in training this week and we are looking forward to what will be a tough game in Peterhead.
“They have really picked up in recent weeks and have won their last three games in a row.
“It is always a difficult place to get a result and Jim McInally has one of the best strikers in the league at his disposal in Rory McAllister.
“We will have to keep him quiet but we will hopefully bounce back strongly after last week’s setback.”
Brechin will be without Chris O’Neil who has suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury while defender Paul McLean and striker Andy Jackson are both carrying knocks and are rated doubtful.
