Arbroath boss Dick Campbell has praised his players for the character and determination they showed last week at Annan – and is looking for more of the same today against Clyde at Gayfield.
It looked like the Red Lichties would register their seventh league draw of the season at Galabank and fall a further two points behind league leaders Forfar.
Instead, on-loan Dundee striker Josh Skelly popped up with a 93rd-minute winner.
Now, with confidence high after that late morale-boosting victory, Campbell is looking for his players to make it back-to-back wins over Barry Ferguson’s side.
The Gayfield gaffer said: “We were well on top during the Annan game but had missed a few chances so I was absolutely delighted to get that late winner.
“The lads deserve immense credit for coming back the way they did after going 1-0 down at a difficult place.
“Confidence seems to be high and I have seen big improvements in recent weeks. I will be looking for more of the same against Clyde.
“It is a chance for us to go above them into third.
“At one point, Forfar were 11 clear but it is now seven and we are clawing them back.
“There are big expectations in this league but we are just happy to sit under the radar and quietly go about our business, hopefully with another three points at Gayfield on Saturday.”
