Brechin boss Darren Dods has signed forward Robbie Buchanan on an emergency loan from Hearts as he deals with a selection crisis.
City welcome Albion Rovers to Glebe Park today and don’t have their troubles to seek.
Definitely out through injury are Chris O’Neil, Andy Jackson and Darren McCormack, while captain Paul McLean is suspended after being sent off for violent conduct in the 1-0 loss to Airdrie last weekend.
It is understood that Jackson’s foot injury is showing little sign of improvement and that he could be out for a few weeks.
To add to that tally of woe, both Alan Trouten and Finn Graham are rated doubtful.
Unsurprisingly, Dods moved yesterday to bring Buchanan (20) in from Tynecastle and he goes straight into the squad.
Dods said: “We do have a lot of injuries and that makes it difficult for us going into this game against Albion Rovers.
“However, what I am asking the players who are fit to do is to get the team through this challenging spell.
“We must keep going and not drop our standards just because we have a few lads missing.”
The result at the Excelsior Stadium robbed City of the chance to go to the top of the League One table, with leaders Livingston involved in the Irn-Bru Cup last Saturday.
They now sit two points adrift of Livi having played a game more.
Dods added: “I thought we played well for the first 20 minutes against Airdrie last Saturday but then had a soft penalty awarded for a handball when the arm was by his (Dougie Hill’s) side.
“We now have to get back on track with a home win.”
