With their best defensive performance of the season, Cowden shut out third-top Clyde to stretch their unbeaten run to four games in League 2.
It was a game where neither goalkeeper was overworked and by the hour mark it was clear that a single goal would win it.
That came with four minutes left when Blues midfielder Brian Ross forced a mistake from the otherwise resolute Clyde defence and Kris Renton scored his third goal in as many games to take the points.
Cowden boss Liam Fox expressed his delight that the Blue Brazil had given their best defensive performance of the season against the Bully Wee.
“Clyde are a pretty good side, and throughout the 90 minutes chances were few and far between for either team. In matches like that it is important that you keep your concentration and defend solidly as a unit,” he said.
“Our three centre-backs were excellent, as was keeper Dave McGurn, but they were well backed up by the other departments and we made sure that we kept them out.”
