Darren Dods is hoping that the return of Andy Jackson and Alan Trouten will help end a three-game goal drought.
The Brechin City manager is relieved to see his injury list start to shorten, with Jackson, Trouten and Finn Graham all making substitute comebacks in the 2-0 defeat to Queen’s Park on Saturday.
And, with the Angus club hosting Albion Rovers this evening, Dods knows where his team need to improve.
“We could still be playing now and we wouldn’t have scored at the weekend,” he reflected.
“The only positive was that the guys got the last 20 minutes or so. The injuries are easing off a bit and they’re in contention to start.
“It’s good to have the opportunity to change things up a bit.”
He added: “We didn’t work them hard enough on Saturday and hopefully that is out of our system.”
Dods is looking up and down the table for motivation in this game.
“If we win we can go one point off Airdrie, who are above us,” he said.
“And it would open up the gap to fifth-placed Queen’s Park to eight points as far as the play-off places are concerned.
“We know this will be a really tough game though. Albion Rovers are a well-organised team who will still be on a high after beating Queen of the South to face Celtic in the Scottish Cup.”
