East Fife will be guided by assistant manager Dougie Anderson when they take on Edinburgh City at the second time of asking in their Scottish Cup replay at Meadowbank tonight.
The sides drew 1-1 at Bayview last Tuesday and in the interim period manager Gary Naysmith has moved onto Queen of the South, with Anderson delaying his move to Dumfries until a replacement is in place.
The replay was due on Monday and Naysmith had agreed to take the Fifers for one last time, however severe frost put paid to that.
The former Scotland defender has now headed to the Doonhamers and despite the upheaval Anderson is looking for a business as usual performance.
He said: “Gary prepared the side for this game at the weekend but unfortunately the weather worked against us on Monday.
“With Gary being a player/ manager the players are used to me being involved on the touchline so things are not markedly different.
“The first meeting was a real game of two halves as they were the better side before the break whereas we controlled most of the second half. Hopefully we have learned for that and will start at a much higher pace this time out.”
On-loan St Johnstone goalkeeper Mark Hurst has not been given permission to play, with the Fifers hoping that Jamie Insall and Kevin Smith can make it as Chris Duggan remains out.
