Brechin boss Darren Dods has admitted that he is counting the days until his selection troubles clear.
City have lost their last five matches in league and cup, having made such a promising start to the season.
The poor run has coincided with an absentee list as long as your arm and the situation is not much better as they go into today’s home game in League One against Stranraer.
James Dale, Chris O’Neil, Gareth Rodger and Andy Jackson are all out injured, while Elliot Ford will serve the first part of the two-game suspension he received for being sent off in the 1-0 home loss to East Fife at Glebe Park last Saturday.
Dods admitted: “This has dragged on for a few weeks now.
“When you first have injuries to can stay a little bit upbeat because you always think the players will be back soon.
“The longer it goes on, though, the more frustrating it gets.
“We really have only about a dozen fit players and I have been on the bench myself.
“That’s not ideal but I am determined not to use it as an excuse for our results.
“Hopefully, there is some light at the end of the tunnel and the numbers will be looking a lot better in a week or two.
“I thought we could have gotten a draw against East Fife last weekend but we need to make home advantage count more often because we have had a good record at Glebe Park in the past.
“The pitch is heavy just now so that isn’t helping the players but we need to deal with that.”
