Paul Hartley’s Hartlepool United have emerged as strong favourites to sign former Raith Rovers full-back Reghan Tumilty.
The 25-year-old is in advanced talks with the League Two outfit following the expiry of his Stark’s Park contract.
Ex-Dundee boss Hartley coached Tumilty during his brief spell in charge of Falkirk and is keen to seal a reunion with the tireless defender.
Hartley is in the midst of shaping his squad for next term after joining the Victoria Park outfit from Cove Rangers earlier this summer.

Tumilty, who has also turned out for Ross County, Morton and Dumbarton, made 85 appearances in two seasons for the Fifers, becoming a firm fans’ favourite.
He helped Rovers secure third and fifth-placed finishes in the Championship and lifted the SPFL Trust Trophy last term.
Reghan Tumilty has attracted strong interest from clubs in Scotland and England’s League One in recent weeks, but Hartlepool are confident of getting a deal over the line in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Rovers have wasted no time in securing Tumilty’s replacement, snapping up ex-Kilmarnock and Dunfermline defender Ross Millen.
