Craig Levein came out top in a hilarious penalty shoot out against Dick Campbell at Glebe Park.
Brechin City hosted Arbroath in a preseason friendly but the main event was at the break.
The Lichties gaffer and City club adviser Levein went head-to-head with shots from the penalty spot providing the half-time entertainment.
Campbell was kitted out early on in his Arbroath training gear, while the former Scotland boss opted to stick with his shirt, jeans and boots.
Neither rolled back the years to their playing days with shots easily saved by Rab Douglas and Brechin goalkeeping coach Iain Ross.
Poor penalties all round
Campbell opened the scoring as Ross dramatically dived the opposite way to gift him the goal.
Levein levelled it with a toe-poke with his last kick to take the penalties to sudden death.
Despite pleas from both to settle for a draw the ref played on and the former United boss won the contest, slotting home after Campbell missed.
Both played out the penalties in good spirits, laughing and joking with the crowd at the end.
The pair were also on hand to entertain supporters before the game, hosting a hospitality function at the Northern Hotel.
On the field, the match ended 2-1 to Arbroath with Kieran Shanks and David Gold netting as the Lichties came from behind, cancelling out Grady McGrath’s opener.
