Brechin City haven’t had the chance to build up any 2017 momentum.
But that is about to change.
The Glebe Park side have suffered more than most with postponed matches since the turn of the year.
That will mean plenty of Saturday/midweek football and the opportunity to climb the League One table.
First up are form team East Fife this afternoon.
Manager Darren Dods said: “It was frustrating that our match was called off last week and that means we’ve got a couple of games in hand now.
“That gives us the chance to kick-on.
“Apart from Euan Smith, who is out for the season, we’ve got a full squad to choose from, which is important at this stage of the season.
“It makes a difference – even for training.”
The postponement of his own side’s match last Saturday enabled Dods to check out East Fife in their Scottish Cup defeat to St Mirren.
“At 1-1 East Fife were on top and looked like they might score next,” said Dods.
“I think it was their first defeat in 11 games. The fact that they’ve beaten Livingston twice tells you how strong they are.
“Barry Smith has done a good job. We first played against each other when I was in Hibs reserves and Barry was in the Celtic reserves.
“We know this will be a tough game but we’ll be going there looking to win.”
