Raith Rovers will assess the condition of three players ahead of this weekend’s Scottish Championship clash with Partick Thistle.
Ian Murray has had a few injury issues in his squad in recent weeks, with Jamie Gullan and Ethan Ross still out.
Ryan Nolan has not recovered and will be unavailable for around the next 10 days, while Tom Lang is continuing his recovery.
One player who hopes to be involved this weekend is Lewis Vaughan.
The forward came through a bounce game earlier this week, his first in 14 months.
‘Looking sharp’
“He’s looking sharp in training, he’s come through the game fine,” said Murray.
“He trained again this morning, he didn’t train this afternoon just as a precaution – he had a little bit of rehab to do.
“He’ll train again and hopefully we have him with us on Saturday – which will be a huge lift for him, the squad and the supporters”
Rovers go into the match with Thistle one of the form sides in the Championship.
Thistle threat
Ian McCall’s team, meanwhile, after a good start to the campaign, have stalled in recent times – but the Raith boss knows they are still a threat.
This is especially true in a league where it is more than just an empty cliche to say anyone can beat anyone else on their day.
“They’ve had a busy schedule themselves – a bit like us in the previous week.
“But playing a team off the back of two defeats, it’s a very dangerous game to underestimate.
“But we go into it fairly confident knowing we can compete.
“It’s tougher to prepare for certain teams.
“It’s very difficult to prepare against a team like Partick, that’s changed formation two or three times in the last few games, and they’ve picked up a few injuries themselves.”
Raith fitness doubts
Murray revealed two other members of his squad will undergo late tests after picking up injuries recently.
John Frederiksen did some light training today and will be assessed on Friday, after he felt tightness on his hamstring and missed the trip to Inverness.
Connor McBride is another who has picked up an ankle knock, which he sustained in training, and will also be checked tomorrow.
