John Potter is “excited” about returning to East End Park but is totally focused on the task ahead for his Kelty Hearts side.
The former defender had two stints at Dunfermline Athletic, the latter of which included a spell as manager in League 1.
He is now returning to the ground as an opposition manager for the first time – though he was part of the Queen’s Park coaching staff that relegated the Pars last season.
Kelty travel to take on a Dunfermline team that last week suffered its first defeat of the season.
‘Excited’ to return
The Maroon Machine are in very good form themselves, turning around a poor run of results to start the season by winning four of their last five League 1 matches.
“I’m excited,” Potter told Courier Sport.
“Dunfermline is a club I was at for a long time for a couple of periods in my life.
“But I’m totally focused on what we have to do.
“Dunfermline are a good team, they are at the top of the league for a reason.
“They don’t give many goals away and they’ve got a good squad to pick from.
“It’ll be a really difficult game for us but one that we can look forward – and one that we’ve got to try and win.”
Martin to return
Potter will have a fully fit squad to chose from other than striker Nathan Austin, who is nearing his return.
Kallum Higginbotham has proved an able deputy for the striker.
Former Pars defender Lewis Martin missed out last week but will go into the squad for the West Fife derby.
“Lewis Martin is back in, he’s trained as well,” added Potter.
“Nathan is the only one out at the moment, and he’s not too far away.
“Apart from that we’re looking good.
