Raith Rovers manager Ian Murray hopes Connor McBride will be available for Saturday’s visit of Hamilton in the Scottish Championship.
The forward has been missing since the defeat to his former club Queen’s Park and could be in contention this weekend.
He will take part in his first session tomorrow before being assessed.
John Frederiksen meanwhile has trained this week after making his return late in Saturday’s win over Partick Thistle.
Lewis Vaughan also made his return and “now has another week under his belt”, according to his manager.
Murray said he didn’t train today, though it is nothing unusual and is part of his rehab.
‘Bubbling over’
He said the mood is good after a comprehensive win at the weekend.
“The boys have trained really well again,” he said.
“Off the back of a good result it helps everybody, it keeps everybody’s spirits high and bubbling over into this week.
“It’s a different proposition for us this week.
“I don’t think there is any pressure on us but people are looking at it and probably expecting us to win, so we have to deal with that.”
That proposition is John Rankin’s Hamilton who move off the bottom of the league with an incredible comeback
It was reminiscent of a 4-4 draw between Raith and Hamilton last year.
“If it goes on another 10 minutes Hamilton probably win,” added Murray.
The Rovers manager believes that result, their recent win in Inverness and the performance versus Partick Thistle show that they are not to be taken lightly, especially in this league.
Keeper out
For the match Murray will be without back-up goalkeeper Robbie Thomson who has broken his hand in training.
“It’s not looking too clever,” said Murray. “It was an innocuous challenge on Tuesday but it’s a fractured hand.
“We’ll need to get him back as quickly as he can.”
It means Andy McNeil, a former Berwick Rangers and Airdrie youth signed in the summer, will be in the squad for a league match for the first time.
The 21-year-old keeper was on the bench for the trip to Pittodrie in the Premier Sports Cup.
