Dunfermline Athletic manager James McPake praised the boisterous away support for their backing in the 1-0 victory at the Falkirk Stadium.
The Pars increased their lead at the top of League 1 thanks to Edinburgh’s defeat to Queen of the South.
In a match light on chances, Craig Wighton scored the only goal of the game, nodding in Joe Chalmers’ corner and sending the away support into raptures.

After the match, a delighted McPake gave the credit to his backroom team for devising the winning set-piece.
He also praised his players for carrying out his instructions.
“People will look at it and say it was 1-0 but I think (it’s) the discipline the players showed,” said McPake.
“Particularly in the first half, to work in their shape.
“We come up with a game plan, but it’s fine and well us coming up with a game plan, the players have got to carry it out.
“To a man today, for 96 minutes, they did that. They got fully what they deserved out the game.”
McPake praised both sets of fans in what was another huge third-tier attendance.
He reserved a special mention for the near-2,000-strong away support.
‘Feels good’
“I think the atmosphere was great today,” said McPake.
“A great advert for the league but great for Dunfermline Athletic as well that we had all those fans behind us.
“It’s great for the players to stand and feel that as well because that feels good.
“They got us over the line today, no doubt – this might have been a different game.”
Falkirk manager John McGlynn said the difference between the sides was that Dunfermline defended their box better than his team.

“For a simple set-piece like that to decide such an important game is criminal defending, from our point of view,” he said.
“It wasn’t a great game, it was a game of chess, basically. Dunfermline has come for one point and will be delighted to get three points.”
