Dunfermline Athletic boss James McPake has been named League One manager of the month for November.

The top award goes to the Pars manager for the second consecutive month, after the Fife side went five games unbeaten and moved seven points clear at the top of the table.

Dunfermline started November with a 1-0 win over title rivals Falkirk before victories over Peterhead and Celtic B and Forfar in the SPFL Trust Trophy and Scottish Cup, respectively.

A 2-2 draw with Clyde was the only blot on an otherwise perfect month for the East End Park side.

Despite being crowned as the top manager, McPake was keen to stress the club’s success was not down to him alone.

“When you are receiving these awards the team is winning,” he told the club website.

“With the team that includes everyone. Last month I spoke of how important the staff and the players are here but I think we can extend that because we have such a great togetherness within the football club from the very top.

“By that I mean the owners and David (Cook), right through the playing squad and the staff – the work everybody does here is incredible.”

January transfers

Dunfermline had to make do during November without the injured trio of Paul Allan, Lewis McCann and Kevin O‘Hara, who all remain sidelined.

In total, McPake deployed 19 of his 26-man squad over the five games.

The Pars boss hinted at some possible new arrivals when the winter transfer window opens in the New Year.

“I know the questions will start coming about the January transfer window and something that myself and Dave are big on is character first and foremost,” McPake said.

“Obviously, they need to be good players, you want to bring good players into your football club, but they need to be the right people because we believe that we have a great group of players here.

“I think you see that in the togetherness.

“There is just a great group of people at this football club at the minute. Myself and Dave are really enjoying working here.”
