If Forfar are to end a seven-game winless run today they will have to beat a side racing up the League Two table to do it.
Stirling Albion are currently showing the form of champions, while the opposite is the case for the Loons.
The Forthbank men have won their last six games to move from the relegation play-off spot to just outside the promotion play-offs.
Forfar boss Gary Bollan said: “Stirling are the form team in the league just now and this will be a really difficult game.
“We have to be up for it as they are on a crest of a wave just now. They are missing key players in Ross McGeachie and Sean Dickson through suspension but they will be full of confidence and up for the game.
“I know the manager Dave Mackay has said that the play-offs are beyond them but they will not be looking for their terrific run to end.”
Forfar went down 3-2 last weekend to Berwick and Bollan is looking for the win that will keep second placed Arbroath at bay.
He said: “After the game we looked back and realised that we had created a lot of chances and had a fair bit of the play.
“The game should have ended at 3-3 but we missed a late penalty so it was a disappointing outcome especially as we were at home.”
The Gayfield men failed to take advantage as they went down 1-0 to Montrose, with Bollan adding: “I did not have to go looking for their result as people were shouting it at me throughout the game.
“Hopefully there will be no need to look for it this weekend as if we win then we do not need to consider other teams.
“If we can get in front and get a win then that will be the start of momentum building for the rest of the season.”
Jamie Bain misses out due to suspension, however Bollan has no injury worries to contend with.
