On paper, East Fife look to have an ideal chance to return to winning ways when they travel to face bottom-of-the-table Stenhousemuir today.
However, Methil manager Barry Smith is definitely not taking anything for granted.
East Fife’s 0-0 draw with Queen’s Park at home last week extended their run without a win to four games.
Despite that, the Bayview side still sit in fourth spot in League 1 and are well in contention for the play-offs at the end of the regular season.
Smith, though, acknowledges that his side need to start picking up three points again – hopefully when they play the Warriors this afternoon.
He said: “A draw was probably a fair result last week over the piece.
“To be fair, it wasn’t a great game of football but thankfully we didn’t lose any ground in the race for the play-offs.
“I can see that going right down to the wire but we will just continue to concentrate on ourselves and not look at what other teams are doing.
“Stenny are fighting for their safety but our desire for points is just as great as theirs.
“Every game in this league is difficult and this one will be no different regardless of league positions.
“We have had a good season so far and we want it to continue for as long as possible.
“However, we have to start picking up three points again and it is time to get back to winning ways.”
East Fife will be without the injured James Penrice and Pat Slattery although Mark Lamont returns to the squad.
